Anita Kazmierczak, New Orleans, 2021

Anita Kazmierczak, New Orleans, 2020

Anita Kazmierczak, a Polish-born artist and writer, bought the house in 2023 and, after three years of renovations, turned it into a place to create, collect, cherish, and display art. The once-empty walls and unique architectural elements now hold contemporary art, vintage designs, and rare antiques, creating an eclectic oasis and getaway for the sensitive and observant.

Anita-POLKA creates most of the art in the house’s 3rd-floor studio. She is an abstract artist who favors geometric, heavily textured, colorful canvases, often set in unique wooden frames. She was born in communist Poland in the XX century. She moved to America in 2003 and lived in many places across the United States, including Seattle on the West Coast, New York City on the East Coast, New Orleans on the South Coast, and finally settled in 2021 in Washington, DC, and on Maryland's Eastern Shore. Her eclectic lifestyle shows in her art; each city imprints itself on her paintings and captures her deeply personal journey between Europe and the United States of America.

After years of creating and sharing the art with “friends”, the inventory grew to the size of a substantial collection, and selected pieces are currently available for purchase. To view the gallery, select the “ART GALLERY” button above; to purchase, select “ART STORE”. Every painting is original and has no digital or printed copy.
